A Post Graduate in M.Sc., Analytical Chemistry and completed the degree during the year 1977 from Madras University. Joined as Scientist at IIFPT on 1978 and worked as Scientist in Post Harvest Technology of Food grains and completed 30 projects so far. Received ICAR award for team research, for the works accomplished during the year 2000-2002. Lecturer to B. Tech., and M.Tech, students of Food Process Engineering. Published 100 research papers, including popular articles Guided 50 Post Graduation projects and 15 M.Phil. Projects on food science. Currently Heading the Division of Food Quality and testing at IIFPT.

Research interest covers Rice milling & Storage, Utilization of rice milling by-products, Formulation of rice based nutritive products and Offer low-cost technology for development of rice-milling machinery & bran stabilization unit. Consultancy offered to solve the problems of Rice milling Industry. Upgraded the Food Testing Laboratory of IIFPT to NABL accreditated status as per ISO 17025 during the year 2009 and acting as the Quality Manager of the laboratory. Expert in the instrumental analysis of food products on nutritional analysis. Expert in the analysis of Secondary metabolites of herbs & herbal products. Consultant in setting up of food testing laboratory across the country.
