Dr. M.Karunai Raj is an Adjunct Faculty in the Department of Food Safety and Quality Testing at the Indian Institute of Food Processing Technology, Thanjavur, India. Graduated from St.Joseph’s College, Tiruchirapalli. He earned his Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Chemistry from Loyola College, Chennai. He has, to his credit, fourteen research publications in peer reviewed international journals.
He has 22 years of rich experience in Research & Development, Analytical Research Development (ARD) for generic API for DMF Filing, Drug Discovery Research (DDR), and Quality control activities. During his industrial career, served in the R&D Centres of four Pharma Majors and successfully led various teams in ARD like Method development , Method transfer, Validation, Stability studies, Impurity profiling and regulatory compliance by using various techniques involving sophisticated instruments in both ARD and Quality control labs Penicillin, Betalactum, Penems and Non-Penicillin & Non-Cephalosporin molecules, etc., His research interests are expandable from ,the analysis of Active pharmaceutical ingredients ,their potential impurities and Phytochemicals and not limited to, the isolation and characterization of active principles from medicinal plants.
